Provincial Human Rights Acts protect employees from discrimination and Occupational Health and Safety Acts protect employees from bullying and harassment.

Provincial Human Rights Acts prohibit employment-based discrimination in the protected grounds of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religious beliefs, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, physical disability, mental disability, marital status, family status, source of income, and sexual orientation.
